“I became involved in the volunteer program at CHRISTUS Spohn because I wanted to have experience in an actual hospital setting and also to gain volunteer hours before I apply for nursing school.

“I enjoy talking to the nurses about how their job is and what they wish they would’ve done differently in order to be more successful with nursing school and different strategies that they use. “My future plans are to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

“Volunteering has helped me understand what it takes to successfully graduate nursing school, what I need to learn, and how to apply my knowledge to actual patients.”
