Each year since the devastating Wimberley flood, Jonathan McComb hosts the Randy Charba Classic a charity-fishing tournament started by Mr. McComb in memory of his family and friends who were lost in the flood. The tournament is aimed at benefiting different charities in the community and is a way for Mr. McComb to show the community his appreciation for their support during his toughest time. This year’s funds were donated to the CHRISTUS Spohn Health System Foundation.

During CHRISTUS Spohn’s EMS Week Celebration, Jonathan McComb and members of the Randy Charba Classic presented Dr. Osbert Blow with a $15,000 check designated to the Carey, Charba, McComb Trauma Operating Room at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi – Shoreline.

Along with his check, Mr. McComb wrote a letter to CHRISTUS Spohn stating, “We hope the funds that were raised in honor and memory of our good friend, Randy Charba, will help to strengthen and provide care needed to help save lives in the new Trauma Operating Room. Thank you for all you do in our community, and we are excited to see what the future holds for CHRISTUS Spohn and Corpus Christi and the surrounding areas.”
