The transformation of health care through CHRISTUS Spohn’s Our PATH Forward continues to take shape at the Shoreline campus. Donors, Associates and guests gathered for the debut of the three new state-of-the-art operating suites at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi – Shoreline.

These new operating suites feature the very latest in imaging technology, video monitors, high-tech lighting and more. Surgeons and their teams will benefit from two monitors mounted on opposite sides of the room and three mounted from the ceiling that can be moved in any direction to better monitor the patient. In addition, there are three overhead lights, each with built-in  cameras to record procedures for teaching purposes.

The debut of the three operating suites is the third, and another critical, phase of the $335 million Master Facility Plan that began in 2015. The first phase was completed last year in January with the opening of the mission driven, Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Family Health Center. From its opening to September 2016, the health center has served almost 16,000 individuals and has filled over 87,000 prescriptions.

The opening of the Trauma and Medical Surgical Services Unit on the 9th Floor of the Critical Care Center in May, in conjunction with the transition of the Level II Trauma Center from the Memorial campus to the Shoreline Campus, marked the end of the second phase. All three components that have been completed represent the progress and commitment to help build a healthier community.

Because of you and your generosity, we are able to keep saving and changing lives.
